All pre-302 desk telephones must be connected to a bell box to function properly. The bell box, or "subscriber set," contains the induction coil, the condenser, and the ringer.
We will include a bell box with any telephone that requires one. It may be manufactured by Western Electric, Kellogg, Automatic Electric, or Stromberg-Carlson - and may contain some newer parts.

Instead of the bell box, and for non-Bulldog candlestick sets only, the NETWORK-WARBLER can be installed in your telephone’s transmitter cup, providing excellent voice quality and a pleasant warbling sound when it rings. The price of your desk stand will be reduced by $50. (Also available for aftermarket installation on customer-owned desk stands - $70)

Instead of a bell box, and for the talking circuit only, the GTE mini-network can be installed when you purchase any non-dial desk stand, dial B1 or dial D1 telephone. The price of your phone will be reduced by $50.
The GTE mini-network fits right inside the base of your telephone with no change in its appearance. If you wish to include the optional mini-ringer with the mini-network, deduct $30 from the cost of your telephone. (Also available for aftermarket installation on customer-owned telephones - $50)

The mini-ringer plugs into a standard modular telephone outlet and the telephone plugs into the mini-ringer. Contains a real bell. The mini-ringer features a convenient ON-OFF switch: $20.00

All Wistful Vista telephones are guaranteed against operational failure due to defective parts. We will repair or replace any defective part free of charge within one (1) year of purchase. All of our telephones are compatible with most modern switching equipment. However, our guarantee does not cover operational failure on telephone services provided by cable TV, the Internet (VOIP), or on any telephone system that does not support pulse dialing.

Still, customers are advised that the original telephones we sell are old – some of them over 100 years old. Over the years, some have acquired minor imperfections in the metal and/or bakelite surfaces, which will not detract from their functionality, beauty or collector value. However, original bakelite parts will be free of cracks, chips and significant gouges. The availability and prices of all items listed on this website are subject to change without notice.
